Club members’ news from Greetham Valley

Greetham Valley Ladies’ members Sophie Beardsall and Emma Tipping have been made life long members of the Lincolnshire Ladies Golf Association. They were part of the all conquering Lincolnshire team who won the county finals in 2011 to take the title of best county in England. They have also been picked for this year’s team to help defend their title. The members and management of Greetham Valley are very proud of them and wish them the very best of luck.

The Gents’ May Midweek Stableford competition was played off white tees on the par 68 Valley course. Fraser Denholm, who plays in as many competitions as he can in order to get his handicap down, had a fantastic game and came home to take the win with a brilliant forty three points. This, plus a good win in the Anniversary Trophy, meant that Fraser who had started the year off on a handicap of 13.3, is now off 8.6. Fraser said that he was really happy with the way that he had managed his way around the course; he had ten pars and three birdies, but was disappointed with the silly errors that lead to the five bogies on his card. Martin Pitcher was second on count back from John Holroyd, both scored forty one points.
