Voted best event of the year in 2009 by 220 Triathlon Magazine.
The Vitruvian is a race that is even tougher to finish than it is to pronounce or even get into. It starts with a 1900 metre swim in Rutland Water, followed by a 84km cycle stage which includes two climbs over the notorious Rutland Ripple and incorporates nearly 1000m of climbing. This is just the second stage of suffering before the 21km run gets under way to finish things off. The good news is at least the run is flat!
There are likely to be over a thousand supporters around the course and that’s what makes this event so special!!
Accommodation can be hard to find – it’s also Burghley Horse Trials in nearby Stamford – so book early! Greetham Valley has a few Hotel rooms and two Lodges currently available.
