All three courses fully open today and on 99% main greens – the only exception is 17th Valley, on temporary green but will be switched to main green as soon as possible. Gloriously sunny forecast over the next couple of days – come and make the most of it!!

Wednesday 4th February 11.30am
Update late morning. Snow is thawing nicely and Adi is hopeful that we will be able to open the Lakes course tomorrow. Further update at 3.00pm this afternoon.

snow on greens 1Wednesday 4th February 8am
Bleh. Very low temperatures overnight. Both main courses closed this morning, Academy course and Driving Range are both open. Anyone for coffee? Toasty warm in the Lounge Bar….

Tuesday 3rd February 5pm
The new snowfall has been thawing in the bright sunshine today although at lunchtime there was still 2cm on the cold greens. Barring any more snow, we are hopeful for golf on all the courses tomorrow. Please do phone the Golf Shop on 01780 460444 to check before leaving home.

Saturday 31st January 9am
Front 9 of the Lakes course and the Academy course are open; an inspection on the back 9 of the Lakes will be held at 11am, there is still a fair amount of lying snow on that part of the course. No rain overnight and it was somewhat chilly. Adi tweets updates too, why not follow him @Adi14

Snow going at Greetham Valley

Friday 30th January 4pm
Adi the Course Manager reports that the snow is almost gone, due to milder temperatures this afternoon, except on north facing slopes. Providing there is no more snowfall overnight, we are looking optimistic for golf on all three courses tomorrow. #fingerscrossed  The courses will be inspected at the crack of dawn Saturday and the updated news will be available from the Golf Shop on 01780 460444. Sorry about the picture quality :)

Fsnow at Greetham Valleyriday 30th January 11am
A light covering of snow both yesterday and overnight has been enough to close the main 18 hole courses but the greenkeepers have been working on the Academy course greens this morning, so the Academy course is open – use orange balls!! If we get any rain today/overnight, this should wash the snow away and we are also hoping for slightly milder temperatures to help do the job. Please phone the Golf Shop on 01780 460444 for updates

Snow update at Greetham Valley

image

SNOW UPDATE 31st DECEMBER 9am
Sunny, frosty and bright again at GV today. Yesterday saw no thaw even in the sunshine and the temperature overnight was minus 6 degrees so that snowy duvet across all the courses is still icy cold – and still there… Forecast is for it to be warmer today, now saying up to 4 degrees so it might start a thaw but that won’t be enough to clear 5cm of snow.  Adi the Course Manager has just spoken to the Members’ Committee because of tomorrow’s Captains’ Drive In and competition and the Drive-In has been postponed to 11am, but no golf competition, and the golf lunch will be served in the Lounge Bar at 12.30pm. There are also over 100 diners booked in for New Year’s Day Lunch in the Rutland Suite. In the meantime, the roads and driveway to GV are still clear, so all is set for tonight’s New Year’s Eve party – we’ll see you there!!

SNOW UPDATE 29th DECEMBER 11am

Sunny and bright at GV today, but thermometer only showing 1 degree above zero at the mo. Driving Range open, but still good 5cm of snowy duvet on the courses. Nice for walking the dog, but hopeless for golf. Forecast says temps set to rise from tomorrow, so good chance that the Captains’ Drive-In and 9 hole comp will happen on Thursday. However, avoid Robert today if you can #grumpy…

SNOW UPDATE 29th DECEMBER AT JUST GONE MIDNIGHT
It’s minus 2 degrees out there right now and hasn’t risen much above freezing all day yesterday (Sunday) even in the sun. Courses likely to be closed for Monday and Tuesday, then fingers crossed a thaw will set in. We’ll keep you posted here, but the Golf Shop will probably be the first to know as they will collar Adi the Course Manager as soon they see him! Lounge Bar and restaurant will be open, lane and drive are clear and we’re revving  up for our New Year’s Eve party night!

SNOW UPDATE 27th DECEMBER  6cm of snow since 5pm Boxing Day at Greetham Valley. Courses are closed but Driving Range is open. Robert has been out on his trusty snowplough to clear the lane and drive down to the Clubhouse, so come on in and warm up! Roaring log fire in the Lounge,  and the view across the snowy golf courses is just beautiful – although Robert doesn’t think so…but Jazz the black lab loves it!
