Academy Course Festival at Greetham Valley

Academy Course Festival

For the third successive year our excellent Academy course played host to ten local primary schools.

A total of 180 children, parents and teachers congregated to take part in a really exciting Golf Festival last Friday morning. The teams compete over ten different stations to test their putting, chipping and driving skills. The pupils use plastic clubs and foam balls and the winning school progresses to an area final. As winners they also get to keep the Tri Golf shield until this time next year.

On the back of the success of this event along with the Golf Foundation and Rutland Sports Council we are looking at staging a super sixes tournament. This will involve teams of six players playing Texas Scramble over six Academy holes. Another fun idea to encourage the future Dustin Johnsons of the game!
