From the greens 16th February

snow blowingWell, winter has finally arrived! Not sure how long it will last but it’s nice to have a few frosty mornings and clear sunny days. The first image shows Alex and Gareth using the leaf blowers to clear the greens of yesterday’s light dusting of snow.

With the new golfing season just around the corner I am starting to implement all my fertiliser programmes, with a hi iron product due to go down on the greens this week if the weather allows, then a slow release granular on the tees and a liquid on the fairways will follow shortly.

My staff continue with the range refurbishment, the outdoor bays have been removed for the time being so no play from out there please. Painting is in progress and will probably take another week or two. The old guttering has been removed and we are just waiting for the new to arrive and this will be put up.

re shaping 11th bunkerI have started the re shaping of the bunker on 11th Lakes today, I am hoping to get this and the one on 16th done by the end of next week. Then if time I’ll do the large bunker on 15th fairway.

As soon as we have finished the painting in the range, we will be back out on the courses pruning trees, turfing tees, and preparing for the forthcoming season.
