The Junior summer camp was a big hit this year, with a total of ten children attending the three day event.
Each morning our training covered all aspects of the game from driving to bunker play. At lunch we had a picnic on the patio and a game of pool. In the afternoon we played a fun competition on the Academy Course. In bunkers you were allowed two hits and then a throw that counted as a shot. Air shots were classed as practice swings! On the final day there was a prize presentation for each age category. Wilby Toothill won the age 12 group with fantastic scores of 35, 32, 35. Archie Curtis won the age 10 category with scores of 43, 37, 38. Harry Curtis won the age 7-9 category with rounds of 39,40 and 38.
There has been a fantastic response following our fun week and there is already plenty of interest for the summer camp next year! It is exclusively for children who have committed to training on a regular basis. We then look to develop their games on the Academy course to build confidence before tackling the blue tees on the Lakes course.
