Greetham Valley’s Ladies’ Lincs Scratch League success

The Greetham Valley Ladies’ Scratch team have won the Lincolnshire Scratch League for the second year in succession! They qualified for the final by winning the South Lincolnshire title and faced the winners of the Northern league, Elsham Golf Club. Greetham Valley fielded the same team as last year in the final but Scratch team Captain Gilly Grant said that she would like to pay tribute to all the members of the team who helped get them to the final. Sophie Beardsall lost the first match two down but Kay Ropson won hers two up. This meant that it was all down to Emma Tipping in the final game and she did not disappoint! Emma won her game three and two.

Emma and Sophie will now be getting ready for 36 holes a day in the English Women’s Golf Association County Finals at East Devon Golf Club between the 17th and 21st of this month. They were part of the victorious Lincolnshire team who won the title last year, and go into this year’s competition as the team to beat. Greetham Valley’s Managing Director Robert Hinch, on behalf of the management and members at Greetham Valley, said that they were proud to count Sophie and Emma as members and wish them and the team all the very best in the competition.
