Week 7 in the Winter Order of Merit was played in cold and windy conditions on the Lakes course but that didn’t deter Adam Clegg who came in with an impressive 42 points. Adam goes ahead of his father Paul Clegg who had won on the previous week: he has moved up to 15th place from 37th. Carl Causbrook was second with 40 points and he also had a big move of 6 places up to 5th. Stef Dutton scored 38 points and moves into 3rd place, with 124.8 points, overtaking Graham Smith into the bargain.
Dave Copley is playing a steady but canny game, he is picking up good points every week without getting his handicap cut and is in 2nd place: he hasn’t been out of the top three since week two and is on 129.7 points However, the man they all have to beat is Bob Beverley, he retains the top spot with 135.5 points, Bob had a really bad cold but such is the competition at the top of the leader board he knows that if you miss a week, you go down rapidly.
It is very close at the moment but there is still a long way to go – this is a 21 week series and anything can happen.
