Meet our Golf Professionals!

Neil Curtis BSc    PGA Head Professional
A graduate in Economics and Management, Neil studied at St Andrews University, the home of golf in Scotland, from 1995 to 1999.  He then trained and qualified as a professional at Kirby Muxloe in Leicestershire, passing the PGA Diploma with distinction at the Belfry in 2001.

Neil secured his first post as Club Professional at Melton Mowbray and is proud to have been that club’s longest serving professional after 12 years of service. In 2014 he was appointed as Head Professional at our 45 hole complex at Greetham Valley and enjoys the responsibility as head of department at a thriving venue.

The highlights of Neil’s playing career include competing in the final stages of qualifying for the Open in 2005 and two British Club Professional Championship finals. He also captained the Leicestershire U18s team, won his home club championship twice and the University Championship during his time playing the Links in Fife.

Neil keeps abreast of the latest coaching philosophies by attending continual professional development conferences and completing assignments toward the PGA Advanced Diploma.

George Chubb     PGA Assistant Golf Professional
George joined Greetham Valley in January 2017 after leaving Kenwick Park Golf Club where he had worked as an assistant for 9 years.

George successfully completed his Foundation Degree in Professional Golf in 2013 and became a PGA qualified golf professional.

As Greetham Valley’s Assistant Golf Professional, George teaches a wide range of golfers of all ages and abilities. He has a great passion for the development of junior golfers and introducing young players to the game.

On the course, his highlights as a Professional so far are: qualifying for the National Assistants Championships, finishing in 2nd Place in the Midlands PGA Charlie Britton Classic with a score of 4 under par 66; winning the Ashby Decoy Pro Am in 2014 also with a score of 66; and finishing in the top 10 of the Lincolnshire PGA order of merit 2016.

The Golf Academy’s indoor tuition bay is part of the newly refurbished floodlit Driving Range, which also has 13 covered bays, 3 outdoor bays and a bunker practice area. Open 7 days a week to members and non-members alike, the Driving Range is in regular use and is particularly popular just before important competitions!

State of the art range ball machinery dispenses baskets of range balls in various denominations. Users may purchase either a one-off PIN code from the Golf Shop or Reception to dispense one basket or may purchase a green Range Card to load with credit for even better value.
